OMNILUX™ (medical grade) works with the body’s own natural processes to counteract the effects of ageing and clears acne-prone skin. OMNILUX™ features three interchangeable LED light treatment heads, each with a different colour of light, or wavelength; each head has up to 1700 evenly-spaced diodes which emit a specific narrow band wavelength of light that is proven effective for the condition being treated. Using different combinations of the LED treatment heads means that aestheticians can deliver effective treatment protocols for acne, skin rejuvenation and for the reduction of periorbital wrinkles.

What Can I Expect From OMNILUX™ (medical grade) LED Light Treatments?

It depends on the specific condition of the skin you need to treat. Skin rejuvenation treatments using red and near-infrared light will have a significant effect on periorbital wrinkles, will help to reduce pore size, improve skin tone and texture, and give a vibrant, healthier-looking skin. Combining blue and red helps remove the bacteria that cause the redness and inflammation of acne, helping to minimise the redness of acne lesions, promoting healing and thus giving clearer and healthier skin.

Acne
Acne is one for the world’s most common skin conditions and results from obstruction, bacterial colonisation and inflammation of the sebaceous follicles.
One of the key bacteria responsible for the inflammation Propionibacterium acnes or P.acnes, produces natural chemicals called porphyrins, which are sensitive to light at different wavelengths.
When stimulated these chemicals will neutralise the bacteria. With no bacteria present inflammation will subside. Furthermore, the action of light on the sebaceous glands produces an environment that is inhibitory to the growth of P. acnes.

Omnilux Plus™ For Skin Rejuvenation And Wound Healing

**Omnilux plus™** in combination with **Omnilux revive™** stimulates the deeper skin tissue, leading to a softening of fine lines, improved skin tone and super smooth skin.
Omnilux plus™ is based on a matrix of Infra-Red LEDs, which provide narrowband 830nm light. The individual LED cone angle and the spacing of the LEDs ensure uniformity of the beam for full coverage of the treatment area.Omnilux plus™ is used for the purpose of skin rejuvenation in combination with Omnilux revive™ and also for wound healing.
Ideal for deeper lines and wrinkles. Work is also being carried out on its use for the temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, arthritis, muscle spasm, relieving stiffness, promoting the relaxation of muscle tissue and to temporarily increase local blood circulation where applied.
The clinician can control the area of illumination and can shape the light to the contour of the treatment area. Only this way can the entire treatment area receive the required dose of light for effective therapy.

For maximum skin benefits and long-lasting results, a course of nine treatments over three weeks is recommended.

For acne effected skin, on average you can expect a 70% improvement in acne lesions following an OMNILUX blue™ light therapy treatment and over 80% when a combination of OMNILUX revive™ and OMNILUX blue™ light therapies are administered over four weeks.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments required will depend on your individual goals, which will be discussed during your initial consultation. Typically, clients are treated two times per week over a period of time and many clients see and feel results after just one treatment.

How long are LED Light Therapy treatments?

Relatively short, depending on your individual treatment plan. Typical treatments are fast and effective, lasting between 10 and 20 minutes.

Can LED Light Therapy be used for post-surgery scarring?

Yes, LED Light Therapy was initially developed to aid in the recovery of wounds and post-surgery scars, without the harmful use of radiation. Now, you can undergo LED Light Therapy to assist with pain relief, superficial skin lesions, rosacea, burns or simply as an addition to your advanced skincare regimen.

How long is the downtime after LED Light Therapy?

There isn’t any downtime from the standalone LED treatment. However, if LED Light therapy is an adjunctive treatment, there may be associated downtime to your other procedure. Your technician will discuss this with you during your consultation.

Is it safe on sensitive skin?

LED is perfectly safe for sensitive or compromised skin. It is a non-invasive fantastic treatment to aid skin that is experiencing anything from mild sensitivity, eczema or psoriasis by helping increase the skin’s natural wound healing process.

Can I go out in the sun after light therapy?

Sun exposure must be avoided after specific skin treatments, such as resurfacing laser, rejuvenating laser, hair reduction, skin needling and light too deep peels. Some of the treatments performed can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight and more vulnerable. We always recommend the use of an SPF, reducing and minimising UV exposure to all areas of our clients skin, as this has been proven to be the number one cause of skin damage and ageing.

Is light therapy safe?

LED is a non-invasive and natural treatment with multiple medical studies showing no adverse side effects. It has been used safely and effectively for aesthetic applications for over 15 years and is the only aesthetic device that has no contra-indications of any kind. It is safe for the eyes and it cannot be overused. While LED is safe for women who are pregnant and breastfeeding we suggest consulting your doctor first.

Who is it suitable for?

LED is suitable for all skins types, colours and conditions; and provides a non-invasive treatment option. It complements the skin’s own natural ability to rejuvenate, boost collagen synthesis and stimulate wound healing; helping with overall skin health.

Is LED therapy similar to laser treatment?

Not to be confused with laser, LED has a unique ability to produce the same specific light frequencies as lasers without damaging skin tissue. LED does not involve any heating of the skin. It improves the health of the skin by stimulating the skin cells metabolism without causing injury and requires no downtime.

What results can I expect?

On your first session, your skin will feel rejuvenated from increased oxygen and blood flow to the skin. After the first 2 weeks, the skin will appear smoother, brighter and plumper. After four weeks skin tone will be more even, tighter and firmer with a healthy improvement in tone, clarity and texture. The complexion is plumped up with new collagen (which pushes the folds of the wrinkles out) and new elastin (which helps to tighten the skin and give it more elasticity).

How many sessions are recommended?

LED Lounge sessions are recommended two to three times a week for a course of four to six weeks. Ideal for pre-wedding prep or before a big event. A session can take anywhere between 9 - 20 minutes.

How long do effects last?

LED therapy will stimulate the skin’s natural cellular processes which help to rejuvenate and repair damaged skin. After a course of treatments, this result continues to improve up to 4-6 months after a light treatment.

Can I apply makeup afterwards?

You can apply make-up right after an LED treatment. We provide aftercare including SPF moisturising, but if you prefer more coverage we recommend using natural mineral makeup where possible.

Will light therapy help with pigmentation?

LED can help with the underlying inflammation of pigmentation, boosting the health of the skin and helping to minimise the appearance of pigment.
